CAMERA BASICS FOR CAVEMEN WORKSHOP PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT

This Camera Basics for Cavemen Workshop Participation Agreement ("Agreement") is entered into by and between the attendee identified at purchase, registration, check-in, or signature ("Attendee," "Participant," "I," "me," or "my") and Primitive Recordings LLC, including its workshop, media, and education operations presented under Primitive Pictures and/or hosted at or in connection with Next Door Vegas.
This Agreement applies to Camera Basics for Cavemen 1, Camera Basics for Cavemen 2, and any related Camera Basics for Cavemen workshop, class, demonstration, beta session, private session, recorded session, live session, or related educational event, whether free or paid (collectively, the "Workshop").
By purchasing a ticket, reserving a seat, attending, entering the Workshop area, signing in, checking a required box online, or otherwise participating in the Workshop, I agree to the terms below.
1. PARTIES COVERED BY THIS AGREEMENT
For purposes of this Agreement, the "Released Parties" include:
Primitive Recordings LLC; Primitive Pictures; Next Door Vegas; their respective owners, members, managers, officers, directors, employees, contractors, instructors, assistants, volunteers, agents, representatives, successors, assigns, affiliated businesses, landlords, property owners, venue operators, and any person or entity assisting with, hosting, presenting, producing, filming, recording, promoting, or operating the Workshop.
2. WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
The Workshop may include classroom instruction, live camera demonstrations, lighting demonstrations, audio demonstrations, green screen demonstrations, camera operation, tripod use, video display equipment, projected or displayed live camera feeds, student questions, workbook or handout materials, equipment demonstrations, and optional attendee participation.
Camera Basics for Cavemen 1 may include beginner camera topics such as exposure, focus, framing, lens choice, white balance, basic camera settings, stable shots, SD card workflow, and beginner shooting checklists.
Camera Basics for Cavemen 2 may include more advanced beginner topics such as lighting, practical lights, shadows, green screen setup, audio capture, microphones, camera movement, mini-scene building, product spot demonstrations, continuity, and production workflow.
3. VOLUNTARY PARTICIPATION
I understand that participation in the Workshop is voluntary. I am responsible for deciding whether I am able to safely attend and participate. I agree to follow all posted rules, instructor directions, staff directions, and reasonable safety instructions.
I understand that I am not required to handle any equipment, appear on camera, wear a microphone, participate in a demonstration, or come to the front of the room unless I voluntarily choose to do so.
4. ASSUMPTION OF RISK
I understand and acknowledge that the Workshop may involve ordinary risks associated with attending a classroom, production, video, photography, or media demonstration environment.
These risks may include, but are not limited to:
a. tripping, slipping, or falling near chairs, tables, cables, tripods, light stands, green screen stands, microphone stands, camera equipment, props, or other Workshop materials;
b. contact with cameras, tripods, lights, monitors, stands, cords, power strips, audio equipment, video equipment, tables, chairs, props, or display equipment;
c. eye strain, discomfort, or distraction from lights, video displays, projectors, screens, or darkened room conditions;
d. heat or discomfort from lights or electronic equipment;
e. minor cuts, bumps, bruises, strains, or other physical injuries;
f. damage to or loss of personal property;
g. risks arising from attendee movement through a small room, hallway, bathroom area, console room, or production/demo space;
h. risks related to optional attendee participation in focus, framing, lighting, green screen, microphone, audio, camera movement, or other live demonstrations;
i. risks related to handling, touching, or moving equipment when invited to do so; and
j. other ordinary risks that may occur in a live instructional, video, media, or production environment.
I knowingly and voluntarily assume these ordinary risks.
5. SAFETY RULES
I agree that I will:
a. follow instructor and staff directions;
b. avoid touching cameras, lights, microphones, green screen stands, cables, tripods, props, audio gear, computers, switchers, monitors, or other Workshop equipment unless expressly invited to do so;
c. avoid moving, unplugging, adjusting, stepping over, or pulling cables unless instructed;
d. avoid blocking walkways, exits, equipment access, or instructor movement;
e. use care around all light stands, camera tripods, microphone stands, tables, and cables;
f. notify staff if I see a spill, loose cable, unstable stand, tripping hazard, or unsafe condition;
g. avoid horseplay, disruptive conduct, harassment, or unsafe behavior; and
h. respect the instructors, staff, other attendees, and the venue.
Primitive Recordings LLC, Primitive Pictures, and/or Next Door Vegas may remove any attendee who refuses to follow safety instructions, disrupts the Workshop, creates a safety concern, harasses others, damages equipment, or otherwise interferes with the event. Removal may occur without refund.
6. RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by Nevada law, I release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue the Released Parties for any and all claims, demands, causes of action, damages, losses, costs, expenses, injuries, or liabilities arising out of or related to my attendance at, entry into, or participation in the Workshop, including claims arising from the ordinary negligence of any Released Party.
This release includes, but is not limited to, claims relating to bodily injury, personal injury, property damage, lost or stolen property, emotional distress, or any other loss connected to ordinary Workshop risks, premises risks, equipment risks, live demonstration risks, or attendee participation risks.
Nothing in this Agreement is intended to release claims that cannot legally be released under Nevada law, including claims arising from gross negligence, reckless conduct, intentional misconduct, or conduct that cannot be waived as a matter of law.
7. MEDICAL CARE
I understand that the Released Parties are not medical providers and are not responsible for providing medical care. If I experience an injury, illness, or emergency during the Workshop, I authorize staff to seek emergency assistance if they reasonably believe it is necessary. I understand that I am responsible for my own medical costs, insurance, and related expenses.
8. PERSONAL PROPERTY
I am responsible for my own personal property, including cameras, lenses, bags, phones, laptops, SD cards, wallets, keys, clothing, and other items. The Released Parties are not responsible for lost, stolen, misplaced, or damaged personal property, except to the extent required by law.
9. EQUIPMENT DAMAGE
I understand that the Workshop may involve expensive cameras, lenses, tripods, lights, microphones, monitors, cables, computers, audio equipment, video equipment, green screen equipment, props, and other production materials.
If I misuse, mishandle, damage, break, lose, steal, or fail to return equipment, props, materials, or venue property through my intentional conduct, reckless conduct, negligence, or failure to follow instructions, I may be responsible for the reasonable cost of repair, replacement, cleaning, or recovery.
10. PHOTO, VIDEO, AUDIO, AND MEDIA RELEASE
I understand that Primitive Recordings LLC, Primitive Pictures, Next Door Vegas, instructors, staff, contractors, or authorized representatives may photograph, film, livestream, record, or otherwise capture audio, video, still images, behind-the-scenes footage, class footage, demonstration footage, crowd shots, wide room shots, attendee participation, instructor demonstrations, testimonials, comments, questions, and other Workshop-related media.
I grant Primitive Recordings LLC, Primitive Pictures, and Next Door Vegas a perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable, royalty-free, fully paid, transferable, and sublicensable right and license to use, reproduce, edit, publish, display, distribute, broadcast, stream, post, advertise, promote, and otherwise exploit my name, voice, image, likeness, appearance, statements, participation, and recorded presence in connection with:
a. Workshop documentation;
b. Workshop recaps;
c. social media posts;
d. websites;
e. advertisements;
f. product pages;
g. course promotion;
h. educational materials;
i. behind-the-scenes content;
j. internal training;
k. future Workshop promotion;
l. Primitive Recordings LLC, Primitive Pictures, and/or Next Door Vegas marketing; and
m. related commercial, promotional, educational, archival, or editorial uses.
I understand that I will not receive compensation, royalties, residuals, approval rights, ownership rights, or additional notice for such uses.
11. MEDIA OPT-OUT OPTION
If I do not want to appear in close-up, featured, or promotional Workshop media, I must notify staff before the Workshop begins. When practical, staff may provide a non-featured seating area or other reasonable accommodation.
I understand that media opt-out accommodations may not prevent incidental appearance in wide room shots, background shots, crowd shots, security footage, reflections, or unavoidable event documentation. I also understand that if I voluntarily enter a demonstration area, speak on camera, participate in a filmed demo, pose for photos, give a testimonial, wear a microphone, or otherwise participate in a featured media moment, I may be required to sign a separate on-camera release and/or I may be recorded as part of that participation.
12. ATTENDEE RECORDING RESTRICTIONS
I may take written notes for personal learning.
I may not record, livestream, publish, distribute, or post the full Workshop or substantial portions of the Workshop without written permission from Primitive Recordings LLC.
I may not record other attendees in a way that violates their privacy or comfort. I may not photograph, film, or record another attendee in a close-up, featured, embarrassing, private, or promotional way without that person's permission.
Short personal reference clips may be allowed only with instructor permission and only if they do not interfere with the Workshop, disclose protected course materials, or record other attendees without permission.
13. COURSE MATERIALS AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All Workshop materials are owned by Primitive Recordings LLC and/or its licensors unless otherwise stated.
Workshop materials may include, but are not limited to workbooks, handouts, checklists, instructor scripts, lesson plans, diagrams, graphics, slide materials, demonstrations, course names, course structure, recorded lessons, video clips, audio clips, images, exercises, examples, and related educational materials.
I may use Workshop materials for my own personal learning and personal practice only.
I may not copy, resell, publish, upload, distribute, reproduce, teach from, commercially exploit, create derivative courses from, livestream, publicly post, or otherwise reuse Workshop materials without written permission from Primitive Recordings LLC.
14. STUDENT WORK AND HOMEWORK
I retain ownership of my own original student projects, homework, footage, photos, edits, scripts, recordings, and creative work that I create outside the Workshop, except for any Primitive Recordings LLC, Primitive Pictures, Next Door Vegas, or third-party materials included in them.
If I voluntarily submit student work for class discussion, private critique, instructor feedback, or Workshop review, I grant Primitive Recordings LLC and Primitive Pictures permission to display, play, discuss, critique, and review that submitted work privately in connection with the Workshop or related class instruction.
Primitive Recordings LLC, Primitive Pictures, and Next Door Vegas will not use my student work in public advertisements, public social media posts, product pages, commercials, promotional videos, or other public marketing materials without separate permission, unless the work was created as part of a separate written agreement.
15. NO GUARANTEE OF RESULTS
I understand that the Workshop is educational. Primitive Recordings LLC, Primitive Pictures, and Next Door Vegas do not guarantee that I will achieve any specific artistic, technical, financial, professional, commercial, or creative result.
The Workshop does not guarantee employment, clients, paid work, professional certification, business success, social media growth, camera mastery, or any particular footage quality.
16. NO PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION
The Workshop is not a professional license, certification, accreditation, union qualification, college course, or formal credential unless expressly stated in writing by Primitive Recordings LLC.
17. REFUND, TRANSFER, CANCELLATION, AND NO-SHOW POLICY
Workshop seats are limited.
Unless a different written policy is posted on the specific product page, the following refund and attendance policy applies:
a. Tickets are non-refundable within twenty-four (24) hours before the scheduled Workshop start time.
b. No-shows are not refundable.
c. Requests to transfer to another available Workshop date may be considered, subject to availability, but are not guaranteed.
d. If Primitive Recordings LLC, Primitive Pictures, or Next Door Vegas cancels or reschedules the Workshop, registered attendees may receive either a refund or a transfer to a future Workshop date, at the organizer's discretion unless otherwise required by law.
e. Sale pricing, beta pricing, discount pricing, coupons, promotions, or special offers may not be retroactively applied to prior purchases.
f. A ticket may not be resold, transferred, or assigned without approval from Primitive Recordings LLC.
18. AGE REQUIREMENT AND MINORS
Unless approved in advance in writing, attendees must be at least eighteen (18) years old.
A minor may attend only if Primitive Recordings LLC gives advance approval and the minor's parent or legal guardian signs all required paperwork. Primitive Recordings LLC may require a parent or legal guardian to remain present during the Workshop.
Primitive Recordings LLC, Primitive Pictures, and Next Door Vegas reserve the right to refuse admission to any minor who arrives without required approval, paperwork, or supervision.
19. HEALTH, ILLNESS, AND ACCESSIBILITY
I agree not to attend the Workshop if I have a contagious illness, symptoms that may put others at risk, or any condition that makes attendance unsafe for me or others.
Attendees who need reasonable accessibility accommodations should contact Primitive Recordings LLC or Next Door Vegas before the Workshop so staff can review what is practical in the space.
20. CONDUCT AND REMOVAL
I agree to behave respectfully and professionally toward instructors, staff, contractors, volunteers, and other attendees.
The Released Parties may remove any attendee who harasses, threatens, intimidates, or disrupts others; refuses to follow safety instructions; touches or moves equipment without permission; damages property; appears intoxicated or impaired; creates a safety concern; violates recording restrictions; interferes with filming, instruction, or demonstrations; or otherwise behaves in a manner that staff reasonably considers inappropriate.
Removal under this section may occur without refund.
21. INDEMNIFICATION
I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, expenses, and attorney's fees arising out of:
a. my violation of this Agreement;
b. my unsafe conduct;
c. my misuse of equipment;
d. my damage to property;
e. my unauthorized recording, posting, or distribution of Workshop materials;
f. my violation of another attendee's privacy or publicity rights;
g. my submission of student work that infringes another person's rights; or
h. any claim caused by my intentional, reckless, or negligent conduct.
22. THIRD-PARTY PLATFORMS AND TECHNOLOGY
The Workshop may use or reference third-party cameras, software, websites, apps, payment processors, livestream tools, editing tools, audio tools, or other platforms. Primitive Recordings LLC, Primitive Pictures, and Next Door Vegas are not responsible for third-party platform outages, defects, pricing, policies, terms, account issues, or technical problems.
23. FORCE MAJEURE
Primitive Recordings LLC, Primitive Pictures, and Next Door Vegas are not liable for delay, cancellation, rescheduling, or failure to perform caused by events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to illness, emergency, power outage, equipment failure, internet outage, fire, flood, government action, labor disruption, civil disturbance, extreme weather, public health issue, venue issue, or other event outside reasonable control.
24. GOVERNING LAW AND VENUE
This Agreement shall be governed by and interpreted under the laws of the State of Nevada, without regard to conflict of law principles.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, any dispute arising out of or related to this Agreement, the Workshop, attendance, registration, payment, media use, course materials, or participation shall be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in Clark County, Nevada.
25. SEVERABILITY
If any provision of this Agreement is found invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.
26. ENTIRE AGREEMENT
This Agreement, together with any product page terms, checkout terms, posted safety rules, and any separate signed media/demo release, constitutes the entire agreement between me and the Released Parties regarding the Workshop.
27. ELECTRONIC ACCEPTANCE AND SIGNATURE
I agree that checking an online box, purchasing a ticket, signing in at the Workshop, signing electronically, or signing physically may each serve as my valid acceptance of this Agreement.
I understand that electronic signatures and online acceptance are intended to be binding to the same extent as physical signatures.
28. ACKNOWLEDGMENT
I have read this Agreement. I understand it. I understand that it includes an assumption of risk, release of liability, waiver of certain legal rights, media release, course materials restrictions, refund policy, and conduct rules.
I agree voluntarily.
